Lithium, Gold



Dark Horse Resources Ltd is an Australian, publicly listed mineral resource company (ASX: DHR), with a particular focus on Argentina, where it has invested in lithium and gold projects, with objectives to:

  • Lithium - produce high grade Lithium Hydroxide for the domestic and international battery and electronic markets by:

    • Targeting >50 million tonnes of lithium resources grading 1.5% Li20 in central Argentina, and

    • Defining a large lithium brine resource in northern Argentina.

  • Discover and define several multimillion ounce gold deposits and the production of gold doré


  • 34,000 HA of exploration licenses in San Luis and Cordoba provinces, and expanding

  • Prospective lithium bearing, spodumene hard rock pegmatite fields

  • Observable massive spodumene crystals with lithium grades of 1.5% to 2% providing enhanced metallurgy recovery

  • Good access to transport infrastructure, energy and experienced workforce

  • The operating Las Tapias Mine within the asset portfolio


  • 300,000 HA of exploration ground in Santa Cruz and Rio Negro Provinces

  • Highly prospective for large tonnage Au/Ag

  • Epithermal vein/breccia, rhyolitic domes

  • Los Domos and Cachi Projects providing initial robust geological results

  • Region is host to multi-million ounce gold reserves and mines - Cerro Negro (Goldcorp) and Cerro Vanguardia (AngloGold Ashanti)

Dark Horse also has a power generation subsidiary, Dark Horse Energy and a substantial holding (33%) in Australian-based and ASX-listed oil and gas exploration company Lakes Oil NL (ASX:LKO).


Strategic Investment

Dark Horse also holds 10.1 billion Lakes Oil shares representing 31% of the Company and worth $10million to DHR at Lakes current share price of 0.1 cents.  Lakes holds a certified onshore gas resource of 11TCF in Victoria Australia (of which approximately 3TCF is conventional), which at the current norm for valuing inground gas resources of 50 cents per Gigajoule, provides a value of $5.5B.
